Materials Characterization

The SonoLab Materials Characterization Process is a powerful tool that is often used to determine specific material properties or to determine if a material has changed significantly compared to the qualified material. Properties such as acoustic velocity, impedance and attenuation are three of the most common properties determined in this process. Knowing these properties can be helpful in providing a more complete analysis of a sample.

This tool can also be applied to comparing suspect components to a known qualified component to aid in counterfeit part detection. The unique nature of this inspection process reveals hidden information on a component’s construction while leaving the part undisturbed for further investigation.
